Abstract:
Offshore oilfields are mainly developed with extended-reach wells and horizontal wells, which have the characteristics of “high productivity and production rate with fewer wells”, and an efficient oil production technology system has been established. This paper reviewed the development history of oil production technologies in offshore oilfields and systematically introduced several key technologies including the high fluid rate electric submersible pump (ESP) lifting , low fluid rate lifting, high gas content well lifting, lifting systems under special working conditions, and simultaneous injection & production in the same well. In addition, It is pointed out that oil production technologies in offshore oilfields are facing challenges such as increasing technical difficulties, insufficient level of intelligence, and requirements of continuous cost reduction and qiality improvement. In order to cope with these challenges, the five development directions of “integration, differentiation, intelligence, low carbonization, and scientificity” were proposed, so as to provide a reference for the expanded application and technological innovation in offshore oilfields.
