Abstract:
Due to high-density well spacing for cluster wells in the artificial island of Jidong Oilfield, there was a high likelihood of down-hole collision problems.Therefore,anti-collision technology was studied for solving this drilling problem.By analysis of drilling technological difficulties of cluster wells in the artificial island of Jidong Oilfield, specific technical measures were put forward:cone bits were used at a specific locations to minimize the risk of collision while;low rigidity bottom hole assembly was applied to make down-hole drilling tools have more deflection deformation space;MWD magnetic field intensity monitoring while drilling was carried out and anti-collision drilling was guided by programming a pre-warning casing distance risk for downhole adjacent wells by detecting magnetic field intensity anomalies. Thus, the anti-collision technology of cluster wells in the artificial islands of Jidong Oilfield was developed by integrating these technical measures and applying them in cluster well groups for the artificial islands of Jidong No.3,thereby reducing the downhole collision probability while drilling. To summarize, this study showed that this anti-collision technology is effective for preventing drilling collisions with casings of adjacent wells and can provide safety assurance for infill drilling in the artificial islands of the Jidong Oilfield.
