Abstract:
Due to high operation pressure in liner cementing in deep and ultra-deep wells,it is possible to have significant difficulties and high safety risks in the operation of the wellhead cement head. For this reason, pneumatic driving systems for mechanical structures have been designed on the basis of modifications of mechanical structures in conventional cement heads, combined with the characteristics of mechanical structures of cement head, which allows the remote control of the pneumatic driving system by the use of radio communication techniques.A remotely-controlled cement head has been developed,to complete the plug drop, ball drop and on-off the cementing manifold by remote control.Lab test results showed that the new remotely-controlled cement head could effectively meet the exigencies of field testing. The new cement head has been tested in cementation of a geothermal well through the remote operations of controlling terminals, and thus various actions were performed smoothly enough to satisfy design requirements. The successful development of the remotely-controlled cement head can provide the guarantee for well cementation operations under high wellhead pressures.
