Optimized Drilling Technologies for Tight Sandstone Reservoirs in Canada Daylight Oilfield

  • In order to develop tight sandstone reservoirs economically and efficiently,and provide references for development of similar oil and gas fields,the drilling technologies in Canada Daylight Oilfield have been investigated.By analyzing main affecting factors on optimized drilling technologies,some important achievements have been obtained,including casing program optimization on the basis of formation pressure;specific bit developed through logging data analysis and statistics;oil-base drilling fluid system developed through the analysis of drilling troubles and formation pressure,and anti-collision drilling techniques were taken to control wellbore trajectory,so as to meet the requirement of well factory drilling;Optimization of advanced downhole tools for matching application;wellbore structures are simplified as two forms,i.e.second spudding and third spudding sections;the composite bits for the alternative hard and soft formations were developed;oil-base drilling system provided safeguard for well bore stability;anti-collision in advance reduced the sliding drilling time;vibration drilling and AGITATOR downhole tools solved the BHA drag,black box provided real data analysis for the vortex of drill string.The study results show that drilling time of average 3 000 m wells in the area were reduced from 18 days to 8 days.The optimized dril-ling technologies provide a guarantee for fast and optimum development of Daylight Oilfield,and good re-ferences for efficient development of tight oil and gas fields in China.
