Petroleum Drilling Techniques is a bimonthly journal under the charge of SINOPEC GROUP, and sponsored by SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Engineering. Its main columns include Expert Viewpoint, Drilling & Completion, Oil & Gas Exploitation, Well Logging & Surface Logging, Low-Carbon & Emission Reduction and Strategic Planning, etc.
Fees
Petroleum Drilling Techniques is an open access journal with no article processing charges. In other words, no fee needs to be paid by the authors and the readers can get access to the website of Petroleum Drilling Techniques and download PDF of all published papers for free.
Review Process
Manuscripts need to be submitted through the online submission system (www.syzt.com.cn) after registration. A strict double-blind review process is required for all manuscripts sent for publication in Petroleum Drilling Techniques including both spontaneous submissions and invited papers. The whole process contains preliminary review by executive editors, double blind peer-review by experts, and final review by chief editors (editorial board).
Copyright
The submission of the manuscript by the authors means that the authors automatically agree to assign exclusive copyright to Petroleum Drilling Techniques if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication. For all the manuscripts to be published, a copyright agreement needs to be signed by the authors.
Once the paper has been published in Petroleum Drilling Techniques, the editorial office will pay the author an one-time payment (including copyright royalties) and 2 free samples. Expect that, if the paper is published in other forms after that, no fee will be paid to the author.
The manuscripts will be published on the website of Petroleum Drilling Techniques, and its Wechat official account, as well as the related third party databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, etc. At the same time, it will be published in print.
Preparation of Manuscripts
Contributions must be presented in correct English and be clearly written. Contributors from China are requested to submit manuscripts written in Chinese.
1. Title
Concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible. The title should be provided in both English and Chinese.
2. Author Names and Affiliations
Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name. And the number of the authors should be no more than 6. All these information should be provided in both English and Chinese.
3. First Author and Corresponding Author
Provide a brief introduction about the first author. Clearly indicate who is willing to handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address of the corresponding author.
4. Abstract
A concise and factual abstract is required (maximum length 350 words). The abstract should state briefly the research purpose, research methods, results and conclusions. The abstracts should be provided in both English and Chinese.
5. Keywords
Immediately after the abstract, provide 5 to 8 keywords, avoiding general and plural terms and multiple concepts (avoid, for example, 'and', 'of'). Be sparing with abbreviations: only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible.The keywords should be provided in both English and Chinese.
6. Subdivision of the Article
Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2), 1.2, etc. Any subsection should be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.
7. References
References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. Responsibility for the accuracy of bibliographic citations lies entirely with the authors. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Only articles that have been published or are in press should be included in the references. Chinese references must be accompanied by English translations. The references should listed according to the Standard GB/T 7714–2005.
The description format and examples of various references are as follows:
Monograph: [serial number] author. Title [M]. Edition (not written in the first edition). Place of publication: Publisher, Year of publication: page number.
Issue: [serial number] author. Title of paper [J]. Journal title (foreign periodicals can be abbreviated according to international standards and omit the abbreviation point), publication year, volume number (issue number): page number.
Symposium: [serial number] author. [C]// Editor. Title of proceedings. Place of publication: publisher, year: page number.
Scientific report: [serial number] author. Title [R]. Place of publication: Publisher, Year of publication: page number.
Dissertation: [serial number] author. [D]. Place of preservation: preservation unit, year.
Patent literature: [serial number] patent applicant. Title: Country, Patent Number [P]. Publication Date.Chinese references must be accompanied by English translations.
8. Quantities and Units
All parameters, units and symbols to be used must conform to the national standard and relevant professional standard. Each physical quantity in a formula must be given its appropriate scientific designation and using recognized standard units.
9. Figures and Tables
The size of a figure or table should not be larger than a full page, the figures with high resolution are required, and black-white figures are not suggested. Heading for both the figures and tables should be provided in both English and Chinese.
10. Acknowledgments
All sources of financial support from institutions, individuals, and businesses in this paper should be recognized. Any potential conflicts of interest should be identified. The data provided should be authorized. All the above information shall be indicated in the acknowledgements section.
