Interpretation Technology of Production Profile of Horizontal Wells Based on Distributed Acoustic Sensing

  • Understanding the distribution of production fluid in each interval is of great significance to improve the decision-making level of horizontal well production. Traditional well logging technologies are difficult to meet the monitoring needs of the production profile of horizontal wells. Distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) technology provides an important means to realize the interpretation of the production profile of horizontal wells by monitoring the acoustic signals generated by downhole fluid production and flow. A full-size horizontal wellbore fluid flow simulation system with DAS was established, and a large number of experiments on the response of DAS acoustic signals to oil and water flow were carried out. Large amounts of DAS data were obtained under different flow rates and oil-water ratios. Then, the flow interpretation model and plate based on DAS frequency band energy (FBE) were established and successfully applied to low-rate cyclic steam stimulation horizontal wells in the field to interpret the production profile of horizontal wells. The results show that the established flow interpretation plates quantitatively determine the production status of oil-water fluid in different intervals. According to the interpretation results of the production profile, the gel water shutoff measure is successfully implemented. After the measure, the average daily oil gain is 5.5 t, and the comprehensive water cut is reduced by 7.0 percentage points. The DAS monitoring method and FBE flow interpretation plates have important reference for an in-depth understanding of the segmented production profile of horizontal wells and profile regulation guidance.
