Exploration and Suggestion of Key Technologies for Intelligent Drilling in Sinopec Shengli Oilfield Service Corporation

  • Due to the increasing demand for deep and unconventional resource development and the influence of the aging population, drilling and exploration of oil and gas are facing structural shortage of personnel and problems of high risk, high cost and low efficiency. In order to cope with these problems and challenges, intelligent drilling technologies have become the key to the development of the industry. Firstly, four key links of intelligent drilling were summarized: data acquisition, transmission, decision-making, and control, and technology exploration of Sinopec Shengli Oilfield Service Corporation in three fields was discussed: surface automation equipment, downhole measurement and control tools, and information construction. Then, the implementation roadmap of intelligent drilling was put forward, and its key technologies were discussed in detail. Finally, a series of recommendations were made to address the challenges encountered during implementation, including improving data communication between downhole and surface, enhancing system integration and cross-fusion of business logic, and digging deeper into the data to deepen theoretical research. The research shows that the development of intelligent drilling technologies not only needs technical breakthroughs but also requires an in-depth understanding and innovation of traditional drilling theory.
