Abstract
The fracturing string of a casing packer may easily get stuck when being lifted back to the surface after a fracturing treatment. To decrease the potential risk in staged fracturing operation, this paper analyzed pipe sticking while lifting fracturing string after three stages of fracturing based on load, free space along borehole, flowback fluid properties, and other characteristic factors taking a staged hydraulic fracturing operation in a horizontal well of a field as an example, and established measures to smoothly release the stuck of fracturing string. In addition, the fracturing strings of the casing packer were optimized to prevent it from being stuck during the subsequent six stages of hydraulic fracturing. The optimized fracturing strings were successfully applied in the subsequent six stages with smooth and safe lifting of all the fracturing strings. The proposed measures and optimized fracturing string can provide a reference for the treatment of similar problems and the optimization of fracturing strings in the future.
